Drop Your Weapons, Surrender And Act Against Gender Based ViolenceThe North West Department of Community Safety and Transport Management department will lead a group of stakeholders in a protest march where fathers, men and boys are expected to surrender, drop their weapons and join the masses in the fight against Gender Based Violence suffered by women, children and the vulnerable groups. The activity is organised to take place in Lokaleng Village in the Greater Taung Local Municipality. Men will further display peace, love, compassion, empathy and companionship that they are expected to demonstrate towards women and children. Men will make their voice heard as they take a firm stand against these abuse, violence and attacks. It's a first of it's kind demonstration and this protest march is part of the Department's activities for 16 Days of Activism Against Women and Child Abuse activated on the 25 November and will be observed until 10 December every year.
